Our Firm is a result of the merger of two leading Brazilian IP firms in 2010 (Montaury Pimenta, established in 1939 and Vieira de Mello, established in 1929). The merger was a natural fit as both firms shared a commitment to the highest ethical and legal standards and already had distinguished histories in the Brazilian legal market.
Montaury Pimenta was initially known for its expertise in civil and corporate law. However, in 1985 the firm expanded its IP practice by developing an extensive international client portfolio. The Vieira de Mello firm had also built a solid reputation among the leading IP firms in Brazil, primarily working with leading domestic corporations.
The firms’ mutual quest for quality, efficiency and success were the determining factors that encouraged the partners to join forces in 2010.
