Brazil and France sign PPH and IP cooperation agreement
Last week, the President of the BPTO, Cláudio Vilar Furtado, and the executive director of the INPI of France, Pascal Faure, signed two agreements: one for technical cooperation in Industrial Property and the other for a Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot project between both countries.
The agreements will allow the exchange of information and good practices on the development of IP protection systems as well as IP training. Through the PPH, participants will be able to use the result of the examination of the patent application performed by the INPI in France to speed up the analysis in Brazil and the same applies for applications examined by the BPTO with corresponding cases filed in France. The PPH pilot project will last for five years and shall start on May 1, 2022.
