Roberto P. Vieira de Mello is one of the founding partners of Montaury Pimenta, Machado & Vieira de Mello and leads the firm’s patent team.. He has a law degree from the University Candido Mendes, in Rio de Janeiro and is an attorney at law admitted to the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) Rio de Janeiro Section since 1975, being also a registered Industrial Property Agent.
Roberto has an extensive practice with patents, trademarks, contracts and litigation, advising his domestic and international clients on the entire spectrum of IP matters, ranging from licensing to contentious matters, as well as to the obtention of registrations and prosecution services, besides the coordination of IP issues in different jurisdictions worldwide.
Roberto has served as an officer and a committee member in several national and international associations, notably the Brazilian Association of Industrial Property Agents (ABAPI), the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI), the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) and the International Trademark Association (INTA).
He has authored several legal articles and regularly lectures in conferences and seminars in Brazil and abroad.

Gabriela Salerno is a partner and head of the technical team of Montaury’s patent department.
She is a chemical engineer graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, currently chair of the Patent Committee of the Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property, vice-chair of the Intellectual Property Owners’ Association Committee on Intellectual Property Practice in Latin America and a member of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She has been working in the patent area since 2006, advising clients, especially on patent matters related to the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and biotechnology fields. She has a background as an in-house counsel in the largest Brazilian cosmetic company, coordinating projects related to competitive intelligence.
Gabriela has been repeatedly recognized as a leading patent practitioner in Brazil and internationally, by the most renowned guides such us IAM Patent 1000, Legal 500, Leaders League and IP Stars.

Isabella Aguiar Reis joined the Montaury law firm as an intern in 2020, became a paralegal in 2022 and an attorney and partner in 2023.
She graduated in Law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in February 2023 and has been working in Intellectual Property Litigation since 2020, assisting clients with judicial and extrajudicial matters in the area.
Her experience includes extrajudicial disputes and complex litigation before the courts, involving cases related to trademarks, copyright, unfair competition and, mainly disputes involving patents in the areas of pharmaceuticals, mechanics, and telecommunications.

Maria Eduarda de O. Borrelli Junqueira joined the Montaury law firm as a paralegal in 2017, became an attorney at law in 2019, and a partner in 2020.
She holds an LLM in Intellectual Property Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, and her Law degree from the same University. In 2016, she studied Industrial Property Law and Copyright Law at Nova University of Lisbon, in Portugal, as part of a graduation exchange program.
Maria Eduarda represents a wide-ranging clientele, including both national and top-leading international companies. Her experience includes complex litigation cases related to patents in the pharmaceutical, telecom, agrochemical and mechanical fields, and she takes part in all aspects of the case – from the drawing of the strategy with the client, passing through the complaint until trial.
