Roberto P. Vieira de Mello is one of the founding partners of Montaury Pimenta, Machado & Vieira de Mello and leads the firm’s patent team.. He has a law degree from the University Candido Mendes, in Rio de Janeiro and is an attorney at law admitted to the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) Rio de Janeiro Section since 1975, being also a registered Industrial Property Agent.
Roberto has an extensive practice with patents, trademarks, contracts and litigation, advising his domestic and international clients on the entire spectrum of IP matters, ranging from licensing to contentious matters, as well as to the obtention of registrations and prosecution services, besides the coordination of IP issues in different jurisdictions worldwide.
Roberto has served as an officer and a committee member in several national and international associations, notably the Brazilian Association of Industrial Property Agents (ABAPI), the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI), the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) and the International Trademark Association (INTA).

Ricardo Vieira de Mello is a senior partner at the firm and heads the São Paulo office.
Ricardo served as vice-president of ABPI - Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property in the bienniums 2000/2001 and 2002/2003, and is a Lifetime Honorary Member of its Board of Directors. He was also President of ABAPI - Brazilian Association of Industrial Property Agents in the biennium 2000/2001, and currently, is an Honorary Counselor and Director of Institutional Relations of the association. He was vice-president of ASPI (São Paulo Association of Intellectual Property), and currently is a member of its Fiscal and Advisory Board. Also, he was President of ALAE (Alliance of Business Advocacy) in the biennium 2021 and 2022.
Ricardo is a member of the Industrial Property and Piracy Commission of OAB/RJ (Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro section) and the Industrial Property Commission of OAB-SP (Brazilian Bar Association, São Paulo section, Jabaquara/Saúde sub-section).
He was Coordinator, from August 1996 to December 2007, of the Permanent Commission for Studies on Trademarks of ABPI and was elected Director of Institutional Relations of ASPI – São Paulo Association of Industrial Property, for the bienniums 2013/2015 and 2017/2019.

Clarissa Jaegger, lawyer and partner at Montaury Pimenta Machado & Vieira de Mello, has been practicing Intellectual Property since joining the firm in 2001. Clarissa manages the trademark portfolio of several large clients in a wide variety of fields such as cosmetics, pharmaceutical, healthcare, entertainment, telecommunication, technology, automobiles, finance, retail and other service businesses. She also has extensive experience in client consultation on IP matters, carrying out due diligence processes and the drafting of IP agreements.
Clarissa is the Secretary-director of the ABPI (Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property) for the 2026–2028 term and a member of the Argentinian Association of Industrial Property Agents, with the aim of protecting client interests in Argentina and to improve the trade relations between two of the most important economies in South America. Clarissa is also responsible for the firm’s Asian desk and has been attending several conferences in the Asia-Oceania region for more than 10 years, including the Asian Patent Attorneys Association, LawAsia and China Trademark Association.

Joana de Mattos Siqueira is a partner and a member of the firm’s Trademarks team. With more than 20 years of experience practicing Intellectual Property law, her work encompasses all aspects of trademark protection before the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (INPI), including prosecution, oppositions, and other administrative proceedings. She also provides strategic advice on complex trademark matters, with a focus on risk mitigation and, whenever possible, avoiding litigation.
Joana is responsible for managing trademark portfolios for major international companies and is actively involved in leading global IP organizations such as INTA, ASIPI, and ECTA. She currently serves on INTA’s Leadership Committee and Nominating Committee, is an INTA Ambassador, and is a former Board Member of the INTA Foundation. She also served as National Delegate of ASIPI (Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property) from 2021 to 2025, is a member of the Women in Law Mentoring Association, and sits on the Professional Affairs Committee of ECTA (European Communities Association).

Carolina Mansinho is an attorney with extensive experience in strategic civil litigation in Intellectual Property, in addition to expertise in Civil, Consumer, and Administrative Law, which provides her with a solid and comprehensive background in delivering solutions in the field of Intellectual Property.

Júlia Bessa Sanzi is a lawyer with solid experience in strategic civil litigation, with a focus on digital law, intellectual property, and privacy and data protection.
