Gabriel is a partner of the office and patent counsel with extensive and in-depth experience in the patent field.

He holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Federal Fluminense (UFF) and is currently studying Law at Cândido Mendes University (UCAM). Additionally, he has two MBAs focused on project and people management, as well as several courses in industrial property.

His practice is distinguished by excellence in handling patent applications before the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (INPI) and providing technical support in complex litigation, particularly in cases involving standard-essential patents (SEP).

He assists a wide range of national and international clients, offering strategic solutions based on his deep knowledge of the Industrial Property Law, key intellectual property treaties, and the interpretation adopted by INPI. His interest in interdisciplinarity drives his continuous pursuit of technical and legal improvement, ensuring the integration of new approaches and strategies into his expertise, always aiming to deliver the best solutions to clients.

  • Experience with invention patents, utility model patents, and certificates of addition.
  • Prior-art searches, drafting of patent applications, and Freedom to Operate (FTO) assessments.
  • Analysis of technical opinions and preparation of briefs to comply with these opinions.
  • Preparation/analysis of third-party technical opinion during examination including detailed arguments on patentability or invalidity.
  • Mapping of SEPs (Standard-Essential Patents) across various widely used technology standards.
  • Technical support in litigation cases, such as infringement and invalidity lawsuits.
  • Preparing questions for court-appointed expert in lawsuits and for the other parties and answering theirs.
